Oscar Ortiz Duarte
Oscar Ortiz Duarte is a writer, public speaker, classical education consultant, and the Principal at Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, Texas. He served previously as the CEO of Heritage Classical Academy in Houston. He is also the creator of SchoolMentor, a YouTube Channel for educators. With a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from University of Dallas and a Master’s degree in the Liberal Arts from St. John’s, he is a passionate proponent of all things classical education.
Mr. Duarte is well-known for his advocacy of classical charter organizations. In the last decade, Oscar has progressed from the classroom, to head of school, to CEO. He also frequently discusses the art of poetic living, an approach to daily life that is inherently creative, intentional, and focused on beauty and gratitude.
Mr. Duarte believes the good, the true, and the beautiful pave the way for everyone to flourish. Originally from Honduras, Oscar was introduced to Socrates and Plato at the age of 21 and never looked back. His vocation is to open access to classical education for diverse and disadvantaged populations.
